Meet Gilbert Schmidt, MD, FASAM

Dr. Gilbert Schmidt is double Board Certified in Addiction Medicine and Emergency Medicine and holds a Juris Doctor from the College of William and Mary. Dr. Schmidt’s career includes roles as VP of Medical Affairs at Sentara Healthcare and President of the Virginia College of Emergency Physicians.
He currently serves as an addiction medicine consultant to Virginia’s Board of Medicine and as an Assistant Professor, Clinical, at the Eastern Virginia Medical School.
