International Overdose Awareness Day

Celebrate and Educate.

“Overdose deaths across the U.S. set new records last year,” said Dr. Navdeep Kang, BrightView’s Chief Clinical Officer. “We can’t let that trend continue. BrightView’s Care & Carry fairs will help citizens learn about substance use disorder, and how they can help save the lives of family and friends who are in crisis.”

These family-friendly fairs will also offer free refreshments, games, and access to community resources. In addition, each BrightView center will plant purple flags to recognize area residents who experienced overdoses in 2020.

Using Narcan to reverse opioid overdoses is an important step in helping people achieve long-term recovery. “Patients constantly tell us that being revived from an overdose was the experience that led them to seek addiction treatment,” said Dr. Kang.
